    What Does Sliding Scale Mean?

Sliding scale therapy refers to a flexible fee for therapy which is adjusted based on the client's financial situation. Rather than having a fixed rate, the cost of therapy "slides" up or down within a range, making mental health care more accessible to individuals who may not be able to afford the regular fees.

For example, if a therapist normally charges $150/hr then their sliding scale range might be $100-$130/hr for the same service. These slots are limited in their availability.

We know that money can be a big barrier to therapy for some folks, and we hope that this option makes it easier for more people to receive mental health support. It allows individuals to pay what they can afford, ensuring that therapy remains within reach for those who need it most.

    Who Qualifies?

    This option isn’t for everyone.

Accessing a reduced rate is determined by each individual's financial circumstances. Those who are unable to pay the full fee due to various financial restrictions such as low income, job loss, immigration challenges, housing issues or significant medical expenses may be eligible for this reduced rate.

Access to this rate will be discussed from time-to-time. If your financial situation changes for the better, then we will make that reduced rate slot available to someone else on our waitlist.

Our aim is to ensure that cost does not prevent anyone from accessing the mental health care they need, while also saving these slots for those who need them the most. Sliding scale therapy prioritizes inclusivity and recognizes the diverse socioeconomic backgrounds of clients.
