Looking for a supervisor?
Clinical Supervision
Provided by Carlin Palme, M.Ed, RP
Carlin utilizes his 15+ years of clinical experience to help you shape your own unique style of psychotherapy.
-
How it works
You will meet with Carlin on a regular basis to talk about clinical matters, what they bring up for you and how to move through subsequent sessions with a deeper understanding of your experience. Carlin will not approach your supervision as an expert with all of the answers because he does not approach therapy with clients this way either. The supervisory relationship will be more explorative and collaborative.
Whenever required, Carlin will happily share his understanding and perspective on matters that might require a more seasoned therapist's experience.
Frequency will depend on your needs based on the requirements of the CRPO.
-
What he brings
Carlin is a skilled therapist and brings an eclectic professional and personal background to the table.
His supervision often centers on building out from the core skills of psychotherapy. He believes that there is no true "gold standard" framework or type of therapy, and that the best outcomes can be achieved through exceptional micro skills (accurate empathy, positive regard, acceptance, genuineness, etc.). These are too often overlooked or quickly skimmed over in many training programs which is why he focuses a lot of time and energy in these areas.
The framework through which he channels his therapeutic skills is predominantly Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), but he supervises folks through whichever framework most aligns with their passion.
Your interests and natural inclination during case conceptualization will shape how he supervises your progress. This will allow you to build up your therapeutic approach in a way that feels natural to you which will inevitably result in more genuine connections with clients and more fruitful work together.
