Are you curious about therapy but don’t really know where to begin? Do you feel intimidated by the process and confused about what types of therapy would be best for you?

Meet Arijana.

As the dedicated Client Care Lead at Access Therapy, Arijana is here to be your first point of contact as you explore the world of therapy. If you’re nervous about the process but know you need support, she’s here to support you as you explore this option for yourself or your loved one. Even if you just have general questions and never end up booking an appointment, that’s fine! We encourage you to get your questions answered because that’s the only way you’ll be able to make an informed decision.

Arijana came to the field of therapy first as a client with lots of confusion about her emotional and mental health. She struggled with numbness and anger, and she would often indulge in wine as her main coping mechanism. She didn’t know there was another way, or that she could feel profoundly better every day. Once she did (ongoing) trauma therapy and learned to tune into her inner world, value her needs and communicate them to her loved ones, her life changed.

Arijana and Carlin started Access Therapy with the dream of making therapy more accessible and warm. She genuinely wants you to experience the healing and growth you seek. Reach out and let’s see if this is the right step for you.

Self-Disclosure

I am an immigrant and a survivor of war. I came to this country at a young age and struggled to fit in sometimes. My experience of being ostracized and ‘othered’ is something I carry in my bones, and this is the experience that most shapes my social justice lens.

I crave an equitable world where everyone is safe to live as they are. I hope that this is what we offer at Access Therapy.

Education and Training

Arijana the Person

What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?

Well, there are a few things, my higher self wants to say ‘a lovely walk in nature’ or communing with the moon.

There’s also the part of me that relishes in a bit of Schadenfreude - getting a kick out of someone else’s blunders. Nothing evil, just a fun compilation of people falling, getting pranked or something smiliar.

Do you live by a motto or any words of wisdom?

Through my therapy journey, I have learned to embrace the word “AND”.

I can be mad at someone about something AND have compassion for them. I am much less prone (though not always) to think in this-or-that terms, black-or-white, and can embrace the discomfort of the shades of grey.

Embrace the AND in life.

What’s next on your bucket list?

I have always wanted to learn to play an instrument. I never really explored that realm in my youth so I’d like to rock out on a ukulele or a guitar. I think lessons are in order!

It’s my experience that you can understand your internal landscape and feel better. So why not give it a try?
